In Dragon Ball Xenoverse, you'll spend most of your time fighting against opponents on closed stages, which may be small or really large depending on the currently played scenario. You need to know how to fight but also how to move effectively both on the ground and in the air. The game also includes a lobby around which you can move freely, make some minor quests, navigate between game modes, and communicate with other players. This guide contains all the basic and additional information on how to use the gamepad to perform all possible actions both during the battle and traveling around Toki Toki.

Most of the time during the game you'll spend on fighting, which is why learning controls is crucial to deal with the challenges that you will encounter while playing. The game allows you to choose between three pre-defined button settings, so before going to the controls list, select the type of settings you'll use (Type A is the default setting).

Move:
Move around the stage.
Rotate camera:
Use to look around.
Weak Attack:
Press repeatedly to make a combo. Can be combined with the Strong Attack.
Strong Attack:
Press repeatedly to make a combo. Can be combined with the Weak Attack.
Charge Attack: Hold
Hold to perform a charged strong attack.
Ki Blast:
Attack with basic Ki Blast.
Knockback Attack: +
Knock the opponent away.
Throw: +
Throw your opponent. You can perform throws even when your opponent is using the guard.
Jump:
Perform a jump.
Fly/Ascend: Hold
Start flying or fly higher.
Descend: Hold
Fly lower.
Lock On:
Lock the camera at the target in front of you.
Change target: orwhen having a locked target
Change the locked target to another one near you.
Step Dash:
Perform a step dash to quickly shorten or increase the distance.
Boost: Hold
Fly faster in direction of choice. Boost uses your stamina.
Just Guard:
Press just as you are attacked to block.
Guard: Hold
Press and hold to block the opponent's attacks. Guard doesn't block throws.
Vanish while guarding: while holding
Escape from pressure while guarding. Vanish uses your stamina.
Vanish without guarding: while being attacking
Change your possition quickly while being attacking. Vanish uses your stamina.
Offensive Vanish: while attacking
Change your possition quickly while attacking your opponent. Vanish uses your stamina.
Super Attacks: Holdand pressororor
Use one of your super attacks.
Ultimate Attacks:Hold+and pressor
Use one of your ultimate attacks.
Evasive Skill:Hold+and press
Use your evasive skill to stop the opponent's pressure.

Combo system

Each character in the game uses the universal basic combo system. Dragon Ball Xenoverse allows you to perform eight different combos that use weak and strong attacks. The first strong attack in each combo except "Combo 1" is chargeable. All setups below works regardless of your gamepad settings type.

Toki Toki is the place where you can move freely between activities in Dragon Ball Xenoverse. Below you'll find a list of controls that will allow you to quickly move between game modes and communicate with other players. Regardless of the type of your gamepad's settings, you use the same buttons when navigating the lobby.
